O2xiv

o2xiv is an image viewer for the GCW Zero, supporting popular formats such as Windows bitmaps and JPEG and PNG files. With it, you can view screenshots stored in your GCW Zero's internal memory, as well as photos stored on microSD cards inserted into the card slot.

Controls in the file selector

  • Dpad Up Dpad Down: Move the selection by one entry, file or directory.
  • L Shoulder Button R Shoulder Button: Move the selection by one page of entries.
  • A Button B Button: Select the image for viewing.

Select the '../' entry to go up one directory. The current path is displayed at the top of the screen. The file selector starts out in your home directory. You can browse screenshots in the internal memory by selecting 'screenshots/', and photos on the external microSD card by going to /media/sdcard; that is, back to / via multiple '../' entries, then 'media/', then 'sdcard/'.

Controls while viewing images

  • Select Button: Options, including Quit (see below).
  • Select Button: Return to the file selector.
  • L Shoulder Button R Shoulder Button: Load the previous or next image in the same directory.
  • Y Button: Zoom in (up to 4x).
  • X Button: Zoom out (up to 1/100x).
  • Directional Pad: Pan, when the image is too large for the screen to show at the current zoom level.
  • B Button: Rotate clockwise 90 degrees.
  • A Button: Rotate counter-clockwise 90 degrees.

Note: Rotations are not written to the original files. They only apply during a run of o2xiv.

Options

After pressing Start while viewing an image, you are greeted with the following commands and options.

  • Original size: Set the zoom level to 100%, exact pixels.
  • Fit inside: Set the zoom level automatically to show the entire image, showing black bars along one dimension of the image if it's shorter.
  • Fit outside: Set the zoom level automatically to fill the entire screen, cropping one dimension of the image if it's longer.
  • Auto-fit: If this setting is enabled, selecting new images shows them as if by the 'Fit inside' command. It is enabled by default.
  • Auto-rotate: If this setting is enabled, selecting new images shows them rotated if their width and height would fill more of the screen if they were reversed.
  • Browse...: Return to the file selector. Equivalent to pressing Select.
  • Return: Return to the image. Equivalent to pressing Start again.

Exiting o2xiv

Select Button, Quit, A Button or B Button

To exit o2xiv, press Start, navigate to Quit and press A or B. This works even from the file selector when there are no images to display.
